Good morning!  Is anyone considering making changes/additions to pay for COVID-19 to incentive emplloyees to come to work?  Would love to hear any ideas!

We have considered if there is a need, at this point, we have not provided any additional incentives; just letting our attendance policy do the job.  I have heard of staffing agencies pushing "hazard pay" but we have not acquiesced yet.

I think we are going to have to start taking action as some of the businesses in our company  are not closing due to the stay in place order in our state and our production staff and others are expected to report to work. We have thought of increasing the hourly rate, providing a lump sum payment monthly, or a hazard pay amount weekly--with all of the unknowns related to the potential close at any time due to an infection, it's hard to cost this out realistically and plan.  I'll be watching this topic closely.

We are considering a % of pay as a differntial only to clinical staff who are in direct contact with positive COVID19 patients.

We already pay our ICU nurses a premium for all hours worked/paid.  We've contemplated hazard pay, but realize that we would have a hard time explaining why one area/role would get it and why others did not.  It's our feeling that the concerns from staff are coming from the conservation of Personal Protective Equipment, so we are focusing our attention on that at the moment.  Communication, education, ensuring we have appropriate supplies, etc.

We are planning to provide a premium (probably 10-15%) for employees required to physically go to the office (security, mail staff, etc.) for the next few weeks, reassess after that point.
